Like Grandma's Hands

Since I've arrived in Hong Kong I've been on the hunt for that ideal laptop bag. Truth is I've been desiring something leather and black, but just large enough for my trusted MBP, mouse and charger, the necessities to my life. Despite being in a shoppers mecca like this, it still proves to be a challenge to find. I debated getting a Porter bag, but seriously, every asian male from Japan to Hong Kong has one.

Tonight turned to be a very lucky find, this classic leather Pielnoble from Barcelona. Feeling the leather between my fingers brought back memories of holding grandma's aged hands. The solid heavy brass clasps & buckles give nothing less then an immortal tangibility. And yes, the lock actually works!

ICC Progress

In an effort to do more things in series, this is the follow-up to the ICC progress. They've been slacking lately, I can't even count a new floor from here. But those cranes are starting to look much more like antennae!

Sipping on crystal

I keep hearing my own echo saying I'm not yet settled, but these recently appeared in the kitchen, perhaps actions speak fairer then words.

Inspirations from the unknown

I was feeling inspirational tonight, sleep took second place.

Or maybe it's the excitement of seeing some 'controversal' stencil art at Banksy show tonight

BANKSY | LOVE ART
Famous controversial stencil artist Banksy will be coming to Hong Kong for the "LOVE ART" exhibition curated by Fabrik Contemporary Art. This unique show is the first of it's kind and will include artwork from other high-profile artists such as Damien Hirst, Keith Haring, Romero Britto, and Mel Ramos. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, do not miss this if you are in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Arts Centre
2 Harbour Road,
Hong Kong

Opening Night: April 23 (Wednesday) | 6:30pm - 8:30pm

Exhibition dates: April 23rd (Wednesday) - April 28th (Monday) | 10am - 8pm

ICC

Late night sessions typically means you get to see the sun rise, or in my case, the moon set. It's the first time I've taken a moment to gaze out at the view from my desk, finally noticing ICC growing into shape. Hong Kong has the ability to twist perspectives, from here, it seems dwarfed, but take a drive to the coast and you're belittled.

Spring Garlic

A week ago or so, I picked up some garlic in preps for a dinner I was planning to have tonight. Apparently the fridge doesn't slow Spring down. I felt like giving tonight, its become my new office plant.

April's tears

I've falling in love with someone new in town, her name's April and she cries. I could smell her walking towards me all day, until she finally reach me and let it all out. She reminds me of my past, on the other side of the ocean. Some things we need to keep inside, they're far too weak to know, the tears would never dry.

Do it for the ...... google!

Can you imagine a world without Google? We'd still be using Lycos or perhaps even, AOL! LOL What better way to procrastinate from work and doing something for good cause, help Google label images. What the fuck does that mean? Better, more accurate keywords provide better search results when we use google to search for images or content. What we're ultimately doing as a whole is building metadata for images, turning a picture into a cluster of words.

It's easy, it's fun, and it's bragable!

The Feeling

Some of the unfortunate know that heavy feeling of a thousand steel wires, tightly twisted around the inside of stomach, after you do that something you know you shouldn't have. It's wrong, but you can't see past the moment, it feels soo good, the butterflies hypnotized in a cloud of guilt. Tonight was one of those nights.

The right words, sinnerman

Every set of speakers seem to have a specific song that was written for it, inseparable from birth. To these majestic beauties, the Interaudio SA 200 (~1983-1987 made by Bose), seem to dance at the sound of Nina Simone's Sinnerman. The guitars, the drums, the piano, all chase each other like kids in a playground. For what they are, they sound wonderful, but still lack the luster found in B&W's.
